A wonderful project started by my partner to make sure that urban fruit does not go to waste. Still in its infancy, the project connects urban fruit tree owners in Toronto with volunteers who are willing to come pick the fruit so it doesn’t just fall on the street and rot. 1/3 of the harvest goes to the fruit tree owners (who often don’t even realize the fruit is edible), 1/3 to the volunteers and 1/3 to walk-in kitchens and food banks and such. Eating as local as you can in the city.
